amazing times we live in. did you know that last week we all lived thru a rare "not-to-be-repeated" again moment? In the wee hours of the morning on April 5, around 1AM the time sequences lined up to be 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06. It was at 1:02AM and 3 seconds on the 4th month on the 5th day of the 6th year of this millennium. we'll never again live thru a moment like that again. personally, i did not stay up to appreciate the momentous occasion. but, if you're reading this right now, you too lived thru (most likely slept thru) that very second. "so what" you may ask. isn't that just random? what is random anyway? is it just our subjective notions that assign meaning to various unrelated events? i think there's more to it than that.recently, after a tiring day i was driving home late when a car pulled in front of me with a the license plate which read "HLLO KT" (hello KT). that didn't seem random to me, nor did it seem like a coincidence. it made me feel known and loved. then tonite i was invited to a prayer meeting in NE portland. we were praying for lots of stuff and it was pretty intense. just before i left one phrase kept going thru my head, "will we be ready, will we have faith?" then we started praying for more hunger and oil to keep our lamps burning. when i got into my car and turned on the radio i heard a women's voice singing "keep your lamps burning, sister,.... don't you worry the work is almost done." i checked to see what station it was on, and it was the public radio station which is far from having christian sympathies. the women was singing an old spiritual. it was so cool. that greatly encouraged me. i caught the song just as she sung "don't you worry sister...."
kinda funny - the Lord put lots of things in our way to show us how loved we are. the stars, the ocean, people, flowers, and HIS word. but, some days it takes some "random" event like a folk singer on a anti-church radio station to sing just what you need to hear.....its like the "rocks crying out." is it a sign? it's certainly a wonder. He's so good. He knows just what our hearts need.
so anyway, it's not random at all. it's just all about me. it's been confirmed. i thot i'd let ya'll know so that you can plan your lives accordingly. ;-)

nope - i beg to differ....
it was proven once again that its about me. i got into my car yesterday , turned on the radio to hear this guy was being interviewed about his job change from a Presidential cabinet seat. i flipped it on just as he was telling the interviewer about two phrases that he lived by. they were quotes by Mother Theresa "love 'til it hurts" and "people who are too busy to prayer are TOO busy." these two quotes have been plumb lines to me. it was once again such an encouragement.
and might i add the birds were singing to me as well. all day yesterday everywhere i went they were singing to me about how wonderful Jesus is.
so there.
oh yeah!? ALL the birds in the park block sing to me every morning when i walk to work.
so there.
i *can* hear them!
"i'd like sing the world a song in perfect har-mo-ne-he-he. i'd like to buy the world a coke to keep it company..."
