"soon you will embark on a delightful journey"

that was what my fortune cookie said. obviously, i don't take much stock in the little slips of paper found in the yummy honey, almond treats. but, it always makes me chuckle when i open one and by chance the general statement is somewhere in the ball park. i think its funny when you get ones that say "you are well thot of by your friends". as if they'd be your friends if they didn't think highly of you. or, "honesty is one of your virtues." doesn't everyone think they're honest? even deceived people think they're honest. anyway, i'm going on a journey. next week off to KC i go.

yep - "i'm leavin' on a jetplane" - i do know when i'll be back again. i'll be on a red eye to KC leaving Tuesday nite. i'll be there for the KC Boiler room "christening". i'm happy to get to go and i'm sure being in KC will be delightful. i've not been back there in a few years and it'll be good to see some old KC friends and PDX DHOP friends who've recently moved there. i got a christmas card from one of my old KC friends. it included a picture of her kids. she and her husband moved from oregon back to KC when i moved out there long time ago. over the years we've not been good at keeping in touch. given the picture, her excuse is evident. there were eight faces with merry christmas smiles, and one newborn in arms. i'll get to meet children numbers 7, 8, and 9.

it'll be good to see new friends. i'll be hanging with some of the 24/7 crew and company which we met in Germany last fall. another reason i can be assured a delightful trip. if anything i'll be out of the rain for a few days.

by the way, did anyone notice the UFO in the sky yesterday and the day before? it was a strange bright yellow orb that wouldn't go away. yes, it was the sun. it seems like its been raining everyday since the first of december. but alas, today the UFO has gone back into hiding.
