"its a beautiful day"
yah, i know its a cheezy title, but it was OK for Bono. David Crowder also got away with "what a glorious day," .... and that's what it was.i got up today twice - the first time was too early after not sleeping much because of a narly cold so, i went back to bed and got up to greet a wonderful sunny spring day. not long after i got up some friends came over to help me tackle some "better with more than one person" chores. it was so nice and warm we had the doors open to let the day flood in. my friend's husband was out in front weeding the flower beds as their toddler inspected worms. i was in the back garden spreading mulch. i think i got a little pink due to the season's, first sun exposure.
later on after the chores were done, i was off with flip flops on to do some errands. it was great cruisin' round in the car, listening to Soul Junk with the windows down. people were out and about, walking and enjoying the sunny day. we Oregonians don our summer shorts and tanks at the tiniest ray of sunlight. so even though the temp did not get close to breaking 70 (21 degrees celsius) there was A LOT of brilliantly white flesh to be seen. the sun was out - it was if it was a national holiday in mid-July.
it felt good to have the wind blowing thru the car instead of a stuffy heater. it was good to have friends over. it was good to have my folks stop by with my nephews to see the new stove they bought me which was delivered today as well - the other one had become a fire hazard. i think it was older than me. do i sound too domestic?
anyway, as Oregonians we know in Spring such blissful weather doesn't last long. by the time i finished my last errand the dark, heavy clouds had moved in and a shower was in the making. but, it was official - the sun had been seen and it will be seen much more soon. oh, and don't forget to set your clocks ahead this weekend. sure that means there'll be less morning light to enjoy - it'll only be for awhile.
ah spring - its to hopeful and refreshing. don't ya love it.

Sounds like a great day. We've been enjoying the lighter evenings for a week now here in England, and I'm lovin it already. Roll on the summer!
ah, yes. i've been waking up with the sun...at 6! it's great, especially since we roll the clocks up an hour tonight and i'll be getting up at what will fee like 6:30. my lovely view of the park blocks will only get more lovely when the leavs come out and play.
Ahh, spring is such a beautiful time. I love listening to the birds singing. Kind of a hope that there will be some warm weather soon! (Although with English weather you never know!)
