We did it!!!

Whew, what a great week. We were doing a ministry trip in our own city!!! It started in Vancouver for 24 hrs of prayer for the city and ended yesterday afternoon as our 48 hours ended. Ten days of seeing what God wants to do in this city. So much happened that we didn't expect. Some good some not so good (getting Barb's Suburban towed in the middle of the night wasn't so good - that was my fault). By Sunday AM we were functioning on 4-5 hours of sleep for the whole 48 hrs.

A team from KC was here for three days of silent prayer out on the streets during the day then worship and prayer in the evening. Then a drive down to Salem to lead worship at a conference. Then a great connection with Bridgetown Ministries on Thurday. Then our 48 hours prayer/ministry to the downtown Portland from Friday to Sunday. We connected with a few other churches and ministries to serve the poor of our city, which consisted of making and distributing sandwiches, hangin' out playing music/drums, washing feet, and handing out cleans socks.

A few weeks ago when we gathered for our team meeting to "plan" for these last two weeks, the Lord led us to wash one another's feet in an act of service (see http://ktscasa77.blogspot.com/2005/07/amazed.html) Who knew we would be literally be washing people's feet downtown as an act of kindness.

What an amazing God. Who needs sleep, anyway?
